Dries Dampness and Transforms Phlegm
†We need a certain amount of mucus to lubricate mucous membranes and keep our lungs working smoothly. When it’s produced in excess, it can be annoying when you have to cough up mucus throughout the day.
According to TCM theory, the Spleen is the source of phlegm production. Since the Spleen is where digestion takes place, the poorer your Spleen function is, the less the nutrients from the food are absorbed into your body. The more the remaining nutrients are transformed as the phlegm, which gets accumulated in the Lungs. (In TCM theory, the Lungs are phlegm storage houses.) If you often eat rich and unrestricted meals, phlegm accumulation can be accelerated.
Mucusolve is a Chinese herbal formula that supports a normal mucus production. It dries dampness, transforms phlegm, regulates Qi and harmonizes the Middle Energizer.
How does Mucusolve Work?
A combination of the two classic formulas, Er Chen Tang and San Zi Yang Qin Tang, Mucusolve enhances the actions of the herbs in the original two formulas.
Chen Pi (Tangerine Peel) regulates Qi, strengthens the Spleen, dries dampness and transforms phlegm. Zhi Ban Xia (Prepared Pinellia Tuber), the chief herb in Er Chen Tang, also dries dampness and transforms phlegm and harmonizes the stomach. Fu Ling (Poria Root), another Spleen-strengthening herb also leaches out dampness. Gan Cao (Processed Licorice Root) tonifies the Spleen, harmonizes the stomach and nourishes Qi. Sheng Jiang (Fresh Ginger Rhizome) releases the exterior and disperses cold, while also warming the middle and transforming phlegm. Together, these 5 herbs form Er Chen Tang.
The remaining three herbs in Mucusolve form San Zi Yang Qin Tang. Lai Fu Zi (Radish Seeds) reduces food retention and eliminates distention while also directing Qi downward and transforming phlegm. Zi Su Zi (Perilla Fruit) also redirects Qi downward and dissolves phlegm. The last herb, Bai Jie Zi (White Mustard Seed) warms the lungs, regulates Qi and expels cold-phlegm.
