Clears Wind And Supports Head Comfort
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory explains three differentiations of discomfort in the head. These include the invasion of external wind into the meridians and collaterals, uprising of Liver Yang, or deficiency of Qi and blood. It's the first type of discomfort that Headelight™ addresses.
So how does Wind invade in the first place? The yang meridians of the hand and feet meet in the head. Furthermore, the Qi and blood that flows throughout your organs all flow towards the head. And when an external evil such as Wind attacks, it strikes the upper body first. When this happens, it causes an alteration or inhibition of Qi and blood circulation in the head (and the meridians that travel into the head), causing discomfort in the area.
Headelight™ acts to clear Wind and relax the head.
How does Headelight™ work?
The first herb in the formula, Chuan Xiong (Szechuan Lovage Root) expels wind and moves Qi upwards in the meridians leading to the head. The next herb, Du Huo (Angelica Root) also dispels wind invasions, as does the third herb in the formula Fang Feng (Siler, aka Laserwort), which also resolves Liver disharmony.
Qiang Huo (Notopterygium Root) disperses wind, cold and dampness, and unblocks obstructions in the channels (meridians). Gao Ben (Chinese Lovage Root) expels wind and cold, while Man Jing Zi (Vitex Fruit) disperses wind and heat in the Liver Channel, which leads to the eyes and head.
Next, Bo He (Mint) removes wind and fire, especially from the head region. Bai Zhi (Angelica Root) resolves external wind and cold patterns as well as dampness, while the last herb in the formula, Dang Gui (Chinese Angelica Root) is a blood tonic.
